Different Brands of Fillers
Dermal fillers are injections to the skin that produce a natural “plumping” effect, potentially restoring lost volume, smoothing over wrinkles and fine lines, softening contours, and restoring a more youthful appearance. They represent an excellent option for patients who wish to look refreshed and rejuvenated without the need for invasive surgery.
At Veritas Plastic Surgery, we work with multiple lines of fillers, each one aligned with particular aesthetic goals. When you join Dr. Ting for a consultation, she will discuss your objectives and recommend the right fillers for you.
Our practice uses:
- Restylane®: lower tendency to allergic response
- Revance®: has undergone less crosslinking and mimics the skin the best
- RADIESSE®: a long-lasting filler, providing results for up to 18 months
- BELOTERO®: ideal for treating fine lines
How Exactly Do They Work?
Different fillers are made with varied ingredients, and thus have diverse effects within the body. For example, some fillers are made with hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that hydrates the skin and keeps it plump. Others are made with calcium hydroxylapatite, a thicker gel that can stimulate the production of collagen.
No matter which filler is used, it is injected beneath the skin’s surface, where it helps fill in lost volume and mediate the appearance of wrinkles. The process is quick, simple, and can be performed without the need for sedation or anesthesia. Note that all of the fillers we offer are FDA-approved for safe clinical use.
Why Do People Choose Fillers Over Other Skin Treatments?
Many patients find fillers to be the best solution for their anti-aging concerns since they can be administered quickly. There are also no incisions required, no scarring, and no need for sedation. As a result, there is no grogginess or extended recovery time.
Fillers can also be a great way for patients to “try out” aesthetic solutions. Based on the results of their fillers, some patients may decide they are ready for FaceTite or a liquid facelift.
How Long Do the Results Last?
The answer can vary from patient to patient, as different people tolerate fillers to differing degrees. Additionally, some fillers prove longer-lasting than others. The longevity of your filler results may fall anywhere from six months to a full 24 months.
If you are worried about your results fading, you can always make a follow-up appointment to have your filler results “touched up.” We have many patients who come in every six to nine months for a maintenance injection, ensuring the results of their fillers are long-lasting.
